What to Expect During Your Visit
Our office wants to ensure and protect the health and safety of patients, staff and doctors by following current CDC, OSHA, and Department of Health guidelines. Among these are sanitizing procedures, use of sneeze/breath barriers, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), temperature screening, reducing contact time, practicing physical distancing whenever possible and adjusting office schedule to implement protective health procedures.
Before Your Visit
If you develop any symptoms of a fever, cough, headache, chills, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or unusual muscle pain, seek the treatment of your personal physician and call our office to reschedule your eye appointment.
If possible, download the patient history form from the Berkeley Optometric Group website, fill it out completely ahead of time and bring it to your appointment. Bring your own pen, face mask or covering, contact lens solutions and case (if applicable) and your current glasses. Wearing a face mask or covering is required for entry into the office.

Accompanying companions are asked to remain outside the office, unless the patient is a minor child or a person needing physical assistance or language interpretation. Examination and Office Visit
The doctor and ophthalmic techs will wear PPE, wash hands before procedures, and sanitize equipment and instruments prior to use with each patient.
Each of the examination rooms and the reception area has a stand-alone air filtration/purification unit actively working in addition to the the general office HVAC system circulating air through each room.
After all examination procedures are completed, you will see the optician for new eyeglasses or contact lenses as appropriate. All eyeglass frames are sanitized prior to patients trying them on. They will be sanitized again after each try-on.
